Overview
Werjago (where'd ya go) is a widget designed to be included in your MySpace, Friendster, Facebook, blog, or home page. It is a travel map showing all the places you have gone in the world, essentially a virtual version of putting pushpins in a paper map. Using the configuration page (http://www.wijot.com/werjago), you enter the places you've visited. The result will be a world map with green dots showing those locations. If you'd like, you can even specify a link for each destination so that when a visitor to your page clicks on a green dot they will be brought to that link, be it a picture, blog, homepage, or whatever you want. Once you are done, the html code to paste into your page will be at the bottom.
Adding a Destination (Green Dot)
About 3 inches down on the left side, you should see a map of the world. This is what will appear on your page. Below the map, is a form called "Add a New Destination" that will allow you to add a destination. You can either select a location or enter the coordinates for one. Next you provide the link that clicking on the destination's green dot will take visitors too. Then you just click the "Add" button. The page will reload and a green dot should now appear on the map at the specified location. Using this method, you can add as many destinations as you like.
To select a location
To select a predefined location, click on the select box under "Pick a Place". A list of destinations in alphabetical order should appear. Pick the one you want by clicking on it.
To specify a custom location
Under "Specify Coordinates and a Name", enter the latitude, longitude, and place name. Specify coordinates using colons between the degrees and minutes followed by a single letter for the direction (N, S, E, W) or use decimal notation (negative for west or south). e.g. 40:02W or -40.0446.
Removing a Destination
If, for some reason, you need to remove one or more destinations, you can use the list to the right of the map. Just click on the check boxes next to the destinations you wish to remove (the dot for that destination should turn red). When you are ready, click the box at the bottom called "Remove Selected Destinations".
Inserting your map into your page
Once you are satisfied with your map, you can grab the code that will display it on your page.
- Highlight the code in the white box labeled "HTML Code" located below the "Add a New Destination" form. To do this, click the "Highlight" button or take your mouse, and place your cursor at the beginning of the text in the box below, then click and hold the left mouse button, while pulling your mouse over the text. This should highlight the text. Now release the left mouse button.
- Second, with the cursor over the highlighted text, right click the mouse for options, and select "copy".
- Go to you page and paste the code into it source by right clicking and selecting "paste":
